I don't ever plan on leaving the BBS or Newgrounds because I genuinely like the users. I mean it's the light of my life but god can it be irritating when stuff like this happens. I still have a portal to vote on too and it just kinda feels like it's necessary that I be there to make things go faster. So nothing gets clogged. I vote about 60-80 a day I think. I might have to calculate that honestly because I'm not sure. It sounds boring but it's fun and I get to see amazing and bad creations every day.
I don't know. Maybe because your misbehavior was more obvious and noticeable to the mods than their misbehavior. Maybe because the mods found a spam thread and read all the comments...
Try asking other people who participated in the spam thread if they got punished too.
I didn't ask, I saw. $ people including me got banned. Not sure about any other users but it still should take a year for someone like mist to get banned. He would make a thread like every day with insults to users and the BBS in general just to be an asshole and every time the mods would just give him a week or month ban. He never learned. You'd think after the 3rd or 4th ban they would just permaban or go for the 1-2 year ban the guy but nope.

I mean there are probably other reasons like having a job, being very busy, and in general growing up and letting things go and all that but it would make sense if people left because it's so empty and not fun like it used to be. The shitty ones stayed and the good ones left and maybe that was just too overwhelming for some people
The ban you received is known as a "destroy" ban. When a thread gets destroyed, it bans the OP for a certain number of days and everyone else who posted in it for a certain number of days. The thread you posted in received a 7:3 destroy (as in, the OP received a 7-day ban and everyone who posted in the thread got 3 days, including you).
The destroy tool has been around since August 2005 when I was 15. I know Liljim put it in place; I don't know who asked for it. I said from the very first day that it is completely unnecessary and only sows more division.

@GoryBlizzard we're all following the rules and waiting out the ban. meanwhile, the other guy deleted his account the second he got banned and will come back with a new account like always. its not fucking fair and @malachy knows it
Really wish they would just permaban him already. It would probably be hard though since you have to ask tom for that kinda stuff and by the next 20 minutes, the guy is gone anyway so it's not even worth asking. We need a voting system for this kind of stuff, really. However, we need reasons that back up our claim if that were put into place so people can't abuse the system.
Spam threads have always been a zero tolerance rule It happens to everyone. Every one has been banned at least once or twice because of that rule. you,me and I think sevensezie got banned a few times. I guess you could say you're apart the club.
